STORY
Moritaka Mashiro, a third-year junior high school student, has a high level of drawing skill, but had no dreams for the future, and spent the boring days.
Moritaka’s uncle, Taro Kawaguchi was manga artist, and once serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, and the work was also animated. However he had died due to overwork after end of the serialization.

One day, Moritaka is invited by Akito Takagi, a talented classmate and aspiring writer, to ask, “Become a manga artist with me?”
At first, Moritaka turn down the invitation, but he makes promise to marry with his unrequited love classmate Miho Azuki, who is aiming to be a voice actor, when his manga is animated and she work on his anime as a voice actor. But they also decide we won’t see each other until our dreams come true.
Moritaka starts to aspire to manga artist with Akito.

 

OUTLINE
This is the first time in two years since the previous work “DEATH NOTE” by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata.

A human drama manga that depicts the youth of boys who aim to become manga artists.

The main characters are Moritaka Mashiro, who possesses a high level of drawing skill, and Akito Takagi, who is a genius and having a literary talent, and draws the path of two boys working together to become a manga artist.
In this work, many proper nouns related to manga are used as real names.
First of all, the editorial department in this manga is “Weekly Shonen Jump”, and many works such as “ONE PIECE” and “Dragon Ball” which are published in “Weekly Shonen Jump” appear on the story.

Since the serialization of “Bakuman.”, the number of manga brought to the editorial department of “Weekly Shonen Jump” from younger generation, which is considered to be influenced by this manga, is increasing.
